Description Wet Car Processor Job Description Pacific Recycling, Inc. is a family-owned scrap metal recycling facility that values honesty and hard work. We are looking for a friendly, reliable, and hard-working person to join our team immediately. Job Summary: Whole car processors are primarily responsible for the processing of all incoming scrap vehicles, including drainage of fluids, search for prohibited items, and other tasks to prepare vehicle for automobile shredder General Responsibilities: · Ensure a safe work environment for self and others at all times · Communicate with yard personnel · Keep whole car processing area clean, well-organized, and safe · Verify VIN against customer paperwork · Remove and properly store mercury switches · Drain all fluids · Search car for any prohibited items · Remove tires Physical Demands: · Frequently required to reach with hands and arms · Able to talk and hear · Standing, sitting, walking, squatting, bending, lifting, reaching, and grasping · Dexterity of hands and fingers · Lift up to 50 pounds from the floor to waist level and carry such objects for at least 30 feet · Exposed to moving mechanical parts · Frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, heat, and outside weather conditions · The noise level in the work environment varies from loud to very loud Qualifications: · Must be able to communicate effectively in English to understand instructions and emergency communications · 18 years of age · Must be able to pass a drug test and background check · Experience in scrapyard preferred but not required · Self-motivated and eager to learn · Reliable with the ability to adhere to a work schedule What We Offer: · Competitive pay · PTO starts at 2 weeks per year and increases with years of service · 8 paid holidays · Company-sponsored medical, vision, and dental insurance · Annual safety boot reimbursement · 401k · Free gym membership Starting pay $17-19/hr DOE Full-time position at 40 hours per week
