Description

SALARY IS NEGOTIABLE - DEPENDING UPON EXPERIENCE

  • Do you enjoy working with people yet also like the autonomy of being out in the field and planning your own day?
  • Are you interested in fixing things?
  • Are you a mechanic who has had enough of workshops?
DGT Services is a family run company providing repair and maintenance services to NHS Wheelchair Services for almost 40 years.
Join our dynamic, well-supported and friendly team of mobile Engineers, who carry out wheelchair repairs, adjustments and maintenance to NHS equipment on issue to clients. This is within a focused locality in Essex and East London Boroughs.
We will provide all relevant training in the service and maintenance of wheelchairs. The successful candidate must have relevant experience or transferable skills, such as those from the motor trade or other mechanical industry. You must have good communication skills and be clean and tidily presented.
The service engineer will be working out in the field autonomously, returning to our Chelmsford base each day.
All duties will be under the supervision of the Team Leader, with support from Operations Manager:
    · carrying out repairs, maintenance, collection, delivery of equipment, planned preventative maintenance to wheelchairs and associated accessories.
    · working with patients, carers, team members, colleagues and the public.
    · As a representative of DGT, upholding and adhering to company standards within the community at all times.
    · Participate in the personal development review process, attending manufacturers’ courses and developing knowledge and skills required for the post.
A full driving licence is required and appointment will also be subject to DBS check, as you will be working with vulnerable people.
Working hours are 8am - 5pm, Monday to Friday. The successful candidate will also participate in the on-call rota (with allowance) covering evenings and weekends.
Mobile phone, uniform, PPE and vehicle are all provided for company use.
