ABOUT US:

White Lotus Farms is a collective of artisan makers - bakers, cheesemakers, chefs, and farmers. For the past 15 years we’ve served the southeastern Michigan community with fresh, hand-made, small-batch delicacies through farms markets and local specialty food stores.
We are now expanding into our first brick-and-mortar cafe and storefront. We will be serving our baked goods, sandwiches, pizzas, soups, salads, as well as pre-pared items to go.

JOB SUMMARY:

Demonstrates a general passion for bread and pastry, an inquisitive mind, and an eye for quality. The head baker will lead the team of bakers in executing all tasks related to scaling ingredients, mixing, shaping and baking bread and pastry, meeting the artisan quality and standards that White Lotus Farms is known for. The head baker will lead the team with a steady and even temperament, ensuring that quality and timelines are met, clean, safe and organized work areas are maintained, and all tasks are finished by shift end.

The right person for the position of Head Baker will:

  • Have experience and passion for baking bread and pastries
  • Work collaboratively with management while leading a team of bakers.
  • Be able to work 8-10 hours a day including nights/ early mornings, Saturdays, and holidays.
  • Be an effective communicator who listens and respects others point of view.

Duties

  • Lead a team of bakers, focusing on quality, consistency and meeting production schedule
  • Train new employees and existing staff
  • Supervise the flow of production and demonstrate proper techniques or assistance when needed.
  • Do whatever it takes to ensure the customer receives the best product

*Additional duties and tasks will be laid out and explained as training and production proceed.
