Description
As a Wholesale & Specialty Customer Support Student, you will support the end-to-end lifecycle of customer orders—from account setup, to invoicing and post-sale support. You’ll gain hands-on experience working with a diverse range of commercial customers and fuel products, while learning how Irving Oil’s supply chain flows from The Refinery to the end user. The Wholesale & Specialty Customer Support team, based at our Home Office, manages account configuration, order corrections, and billing support for commercial customers across Canada, the United States and Ireland (selectively). The team supports the sale of gasoline, diesel, heating oil, kerosene, jet fuel, liquid asphalt, bunker and marine gas oil, supporting everything from ships and airplanes to bulk fuel deliveries. With 11 team members, including counterparts in Pricing & Contract Administration, they collaborate with Sales, Supply Product & Terminals, Inventory Movement Control, Tractor Trailer Operations, and other internal teams to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities: Investigate and resolve post-sale inquiries, including billing corrections and validation of customer claims (volume, pricing, purchase confirmation) Use Salesforce to manage customer interactions and track issue resolution Contribute to a “legacy project” by documenting processes and creating onboarding materials for future students or other projects as needed Maintain and enhance customer experience through responsive communication and process improvements Your Skills: Strong communication and customer service skills Excellent time management and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment Inquisitive mindset with a willingness to ask questions and learn continuously Comfortable presenting ideas and findings to team members and stakeholders Proficiency in Microsoft Excel High attention to detail and accountability Your Experience: Currently enrolled in a Business Administration program Must have completed at least one year of post-secondary education and be returning to school Previous experience in customer support would be considered an asset What We Offer: Professional Development – Student focused learning & development sessions, mentorships and networking events Student Benefits – Housing allowance, co-op fee reimbursement and parking allowance for qualifying candidates.
