To alleviate poverty, we deliver a variety of services including childcare, education, workforce development, nutrition, health, and community and housing support.  Position Overview: The WIC Program Assistant is responsible for assisting WIC participants and other staff members with various daily tasks, ensuring that all administrative functions are fully supported. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:    * Answer and direct phone calls * Screen applicant inquiries for eligibility * Manage appointment scheduling/rescheduling including reminder phone calls * Greet and triage participants to appropriate staff * Oversee flow of applicants/participants in waiting area * Clerical duties as required Required Qualifications and Skills: * High School Diploma or equivalent * One year's general office experience with proficient computer skills * Experience in health care or community facility preferred * Sensitivity to the needs of the participant population * Good communication and interpersonal skills * Availability to work at multiple WIC sites and during program clinic hours, as needed * Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred Physical Requirements:  * Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer * Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times Other duties: Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.  Compensation: A salary within the range of $20.43 to $27.64 per hour will be provided to the successful candidate having met the minimum requirements for the position consistent with the MOC compensation philosophy. The candidate’s exact placement will be determined based on factors consistent with MOC’s compensation framework.
