Position Summary:This position is a temporary role that provides coverage and support for two bases located in Puntzi Lake and Dease Lake, British Columbia. The position is based in Smithers, British Columbia, and requires frequent travel between these locations. The work schedule consists of 15 days on and 6 days off. Perimeter Solutions will cover any travel-related expenses.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid class 5 driver’s license
  • Clean driver abstract
  • Proficient computer skills- Outlook, Word, Excel
  • Work in team environment and effectively communicate with other personnel
  • Ability to use hand tools, lawn mowers, garden tools
  • Mechanical background or aptitude (preferred)
  • First aid certificate (preferred)
  • Attending Air Tanker Loader Technician certification required each year
Responsibilities
  • Load wildfire aircraft as required, following SWP’s within contracted time frames
  • Interact with Aviation crews and Government Personnel in a professional and courteous manner
  • Handling all activities related to fire retardant including:
  • Retardant concentrate recirculation
  • Mixing concentrate during aircraft loading
  • Ensuring mixed products meet quality specifications
  • Loading Wildfire Air Tankers in a safe and efficient manner
  • Off-loading tanker trailers of liquid concentrate
  • Cleaning up any spills or leakage
  • Checks and minor equipment service, ensuring a state of readiness always
  • Daily operational inspection of all pumps, hoses, fittings, and switches, verifying all equipment functions as required
  • Beginning shift checks of water and retardant tank volumes.
  • Assisting Technical Representative in tanker base setup, shutdowns and other field-related projects as required
  • Attend the annual spring loader certification training
