QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Law Clerk or Legal Assistant Diploma (or equivalent certification)
  • 3–5+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably in wills and estate planning
  • Strong working knowledge of the procedures related to Wills and Powers of Attorney in Ontario
  • Excellent organizational skills and a high level of attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage competing deadlines in a professional and efficient manner
  • Client-focused approach with the ability to handle sensitive conversations with discretion
  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a small office environment
Responsibilities
  • Serve as the first point of contact for clients in the wills and estate planning process
  • Draft Wills and Powers of Attorney under the direction of a lawyer
  • Assist with execution meetings and witness signings
  • Manage calendars, schedule client meetings, and coordinate appointments
  • Maintain both physical and digital files with strong organizational practices
  • Prepare correspondence, invoices, and reporting letters to clients
  • Perform intake duties for estate matters and assist with data entry in Estateably
  • Track and update internal systems for client and matter status
  • Provide general administrative and clerical support within the Wills and Estates Practice Group
  • Offer assistance with broader administrative needs in the Elora office as required
