Job Details Position Type: Part Time Education Level: Associates Degree (required) Wind Energy Technology Instructor (Adjunct) Position Type: Adjunct Position Status: Temporary Pay Frequency: Monthly Location: Wellington Department: Career & Technical Education Position Reports To: Department Chair for Career & Technical Education Position Start Date: January 2026 Job Summary: The Wind Energy Technology Instructor for the Wind Energy Technology program is located at the Sumner Campus. This position will be responsible for effectively teaching introductory courses in Working-at-Heights, Lock-Out Tag-Out, Electrical Safety, Basic Electrical, Basic Mechanical, Basic Hydraulics, Rigging, CPR/First-Aid, Confined Space and Self-Rescue. Must be Global Wind Organization (GWO) certified or able to become certified within 6 months of hire. Position Duties: Teach state approved courses in Wind Energy Technology. Instruct students in competency-based program curriculum using current instructional strategies appropriate to the subject matter to assure highest quality classroom instruction. Effectively manage the classroom to create an optimal learning environment, maintaining an appropriate balance of classroom discipline. Maintain up-to-date records of student attendance, academic progress and grades as required by College policy and certification/regulatory agencies. Assist in recruiting and maintaining student retention. Assist in the creation of curriculum, instructional materials, and oversight of classroom, lab, and equipment Maintain courteous, professional and effective working relationships with employees, vendors and/or any other representatives of external organization. Comply with all College policies and procedures. Performing other related duties as assigned. Required Knowledge and Skills: Demonstrated proficiency in Working-at-Heights, Lock-Out Tag-Out, Electrical Safety, Basic Electrical, Basic Mechanical, Basic Hydraulics, Rigging, CPR/First-Aid, Confined Space and Self-Rescue. Ability to work independently, as well as on a team. Ability to work and maintain the highest level of confidentiality. Good communications skills, both written and spoken. Ability to organize and prioritize work. Work well under deadline pressures. Excellent human relations skills. Ability to work with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and diverse populations. Required Education and Experience: Associate’s degree in wind energy (or similar) from a regionally accredited educational institution PLUS 3 to 5 years of wind energy industry experience. Minimum of 100 clock hours of vocational teaching experience. Certified Global Wind Organization (GWO) Educator preferred. Qualifications
