YOUR IMPACT:

Pearce is seeking a Wind Safety Specialist, you will be pivotal in driving our safety metrics and compliance, supporting our operational teams, and leading HSE programs and policies. Your expertise will contribute to our commitment to a safe working environment across all levels of operations.

CORE EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Health, or Environmental Sciences, or an Associate’s or technical degree with 4+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Preferably holding certifications such as ASP (Associate Safety Professional) or CSP (Certified Safety Professional).
  • At least three years of experience in safety coordination, ideally within the wind industry or related fields.
  • Comprehensive understanding of electrical safety, lockout/tagout procedures, working at heights, and driver safety.
  • Proficient in the wind generation sector and familiar with construction-related safety practices.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, capable of leading and influencing diverse teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive HSE objectives and foster a proactive safety environment.
  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations including OSHA and EPA; familiarity with Cal/OSHA is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with HSE and operational teams to define and achieve safety metrics and objectives based on our industry’s risk profile.
  • Promote and drive initiatives for a robust safety culture, aiming for zero harm across all activities.
  • Provide coaching and support to operational leadership, managers, and technicians on HSE practices, fostering strong adherence to safety standards.
  • Oversee and report on HSE performance metrics, utilizing our management systems to communicate effectively with all stakeholders.
  • Lead incident investigations and root cause analysis, implementing preventive measures and promoting safety awareness.
  • Manage injury and illness tracking, reporting, and case management to ensure accurate documentation and proactive handling.
  • Perform field audits with a focus on compliance with safety regulations and internal policies.
  • Proactively identify and address EHS critical process gaps, creating and executing relevant action plans.
  • Develop and disseminate safety training materials tailored to the needs of the wind industry.
  • Ensure alignment with external customer HSE standards, enhancing partnership and compliance.
  • Oversee and enhance the driver safety program to minimize vehicle-related incidents.
  • Lead updates and the development of HSE procedures and policies.
  • Facilitate HSE communication, including conducting safety meetings and creating educational content on safety practices.
  • Deliver training on key HSE topics, with a focus on ensuring comprehensive knowledge and adherence among staff.
