JOB OVERVIEW

The Winding Room Operative’s role is to run the sewing thread winding machines. This will involve loading the machines with the raw yarn and replacing finished cones of thread with empty cones. The role involves being constantly vigilant that all winding heads are running correctly and that the thread packages are being produced to the right quality. Constant monitoring of quality is vital.

SKILLS

  • Concentration and diligence
  • Ability to be on your feet for extended periods
  • Must be organised and have the ability to follow a production schedule.
  • Full training will be given
  • Be able to troubleshoot equipment issues effectively.
  • Competence in using hand tools safely and efficiently.
  • Basic mathematical skills

  • Reset machinery for different production requirements
