Description

Founded in 1986 and locally owned, Braid Flooring & Window Fashions is a leading provider of high-quality flooring and window covering solutions, offering a wide range of products and services to residential and commercial clients.
We are looking for a Window Furnishings Design Consultant with an eye for home design to join our team. You are a self-motivated individual who is organized and enjoys meeting new people. You have the unique ability to be detail oriented and professional while understanding the needs of the people around you.
As a Design Consultant, you will be the first point of contact with customers. You are professional and well spoken.

Key Responsibilities of the Role:

  • Build and maintain relationships with customers by attending networking events and meetings, following up with existing customers by phone or in person, and greeting customers in the Braid showroom, understanding their needs and preferences.
  • Educate clients on Hunter Douglas products, including blinds, shades, shutters, and motorized solutions.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing showroom that reflects the Hunter Douglas brand.
  • Visit clients’ homes to assess needs, present product options, and provide design guidance.
  • Handle appointment reschedules, cancellations, and follow-ups to ensure a smooth customer experience.
  • Accurately measure windows and spaces to ensure proper fit and function of custom window treatments.
  • Prepare and submit detailed product orders, ensuring accuracy and alignment with client expectations.
  • Coordinate blind delivery and installation.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through timely follow-ups and support after showroom visits.
  • Provide exceptional service by addressing customer inquiries and resolving issues promptly, including warranty and repair calls.

The ideal candidate:

  • At least 2 years of sales experience, ideally in the construction industry
  • Reliable and organized
  • Resourceful and able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Above-average time management and organizational skills
  • Fluent in English
  • Average or above average computer skills
  • Must have your own vehicle and Class 5 drivers license
  • Knowledge of window coverings and draperies is an asset
