Wine Specialist / Steward About the Role: Jungle Jim’s International Market is seeking an experienced Wine Specialist / Steward to join our expertly driven Beer & Wine Department. Featuring an award-winning selection that includes more than 17,000 wine labels and a world-class Wine Cellar, our department is one of the largest and most renowned in the country. This role requires a high level of wine expertise and a genuine passion for hospitality. You will be responsible for guiding discerning buyers, hosting premium tasting events, and sharing your deep knowledge with our customers and team. * Provide expert-level recommendations and consultations to retail customers and high-end wine collectors. * Plan, organize, promote, and host engaging, educational wine tastings and special high-profile department events. * Actively engage with customers on the sales floor to build relationships, increase average cart sizes, and meet sales goals. * Merchandise high-end selections and monitor market trends to help curate new, exciting, and highly profitable products for our shelves. * Share your expertise with the rest of the team, mentoring and helping educate general department staff on product knowledge and sales techniques. * Help maintain the premium look and feel of our high-end wine areas and Wine Cellar. What We’re Looking For: * Extensive knowledge of global wine regions, varietals, vintages, and food pairings (Sommelier or WSET certifications are highly preferred). * Proven experience in premium wine retail, fine dining hospitality, or the beverage industry with a track record of driving sales. * Exceptional communication and public speaking skills for hosting dynamic tastings, large events, and interacting with guests. * A results-driven mindset paired with a friendly, approachable attitude and deep industry expertise.
