Léon 1909 in Shelter Island, NY seeks an experienced full-time Sommelier/Wine Steward to join our team.
Who are we? We are a high-end countryside French and Italian restaurant situated on stunning Shelter Island in the Hamptons.
Candidate summary: The ideal candidate has a guest-first attitude and excels at providing personalized wine recommendations to guests. You are skilled at updating wine menus and managing inventory, which contributes to consistent sales growth and positive customer interactions.

SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS:

• 40 hours weekly
• 5 days a week
• 3:00pm to11:00pm shift

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS:

• English

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

• 2+ years of previous bar experience in a high-volume fine dining or upscale casual restaurant
• Knowledge of current bar trends
• Staff training & motivation
• Scheduling
• Managing less than 5 people
