POSITION OVERVIEW

Kaya Vineyard & Winery is seeking an outgoing, enthusiastic Wine Steward to join our team! This role is the heart of our guest experience—guiding visitors through wine tastings, sharing our story, and creating a welcoming, memorable atmosphere. If you love connecting with people, enjoy learning about wine, and thrive in a beautiful, fast-paced setting, this position is perfect for you.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be at least 18 years old; 21+ preferred (due to serving alcohol).
  • Outgoing, positive personality with strong communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn about wine and share that knowledge with guests.
  • Comfortable working on your feet for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and move cases of wine when needed.
  • Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays (peak business times).
  • Previous hospitality or retail experience is a plus, but not required—we provide training!

Responsibilities
  • Host Wine Tastings: Educate guests about our wines, vineyards, and winemaking process in a friendly and approachable way.
  • Provide Exceptional Service: Greet guests warmly, answer questions, and make recommendations to enhance their experience.
  • Upsell & Promote: Suggest bottles, flights, and merchandise to maximize guest satisfaction and sales.
  • Maintain Cleanliness: Keep tasting areas, counters, and glassware neat and organized.
  • Restock & Support: Replenish wine, supplies, and materials throughout the day.
  • Event Assistance: Support private tastings, wine dinners, and special events as needed.
  • Outdoor Service: Occasionally work on patios or outdoor areas, regardless of weather conditions.
  • Physical Tasks: Assist with lifting and moving wine cases and other supplies (up to 50 lbs).
