Responsibilities

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

As the successful candidate, you will have the opportunity to work on the Wing of Tomorrow Full Scale Static Test, including:

  • Correlating test results with predictions and drawing conclusions for the next phase of testing, and beyond;
  • Working with the results of novel instrumentation techniques to gain understanding of the behavior of the wing and feeding that learning into future projects.

In addition to that, you will also support the development of novel composite wing box designs, working closely with other engineering functions and manufacturing colleagues.
Through these activities you will develop a good understanding of how we design, analyze and test Airbus wings. You will use cutting edge simulation tools and play a role in disseminating the learning to future R&T activities and projects.

YOUR APPLICATION SHOULD INCLUDE A CV ALONG WITH A COVER LETTER OUTLINING YOUR MOTIVATION AND SUITABILITY FOR THE ROLE.

As the successful candidate you will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Studying towards a degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent;
  • An interest in the development of composite and metallic aircraft structures, particularly the structural analysis of those structures;
  • An interest in finding creative and practical solutions to complex problems;
  • A proactive team player who is able to listen, understand and communicate in an open and trusting environment;
  • A strong interest in developing themselves and others.

SECURITY CLEARANCE: You will be subject to a BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) check. You might also need to gain UK SC-level Security Clearance or Export Control.
