Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

The web-developer is part of our training and sustainment development team. Working alongside the product owner, quality assurance, backend-developer, and development operations, the web-developer will build the human interfaces which connects our customers to our services and databases. The web-developer has a strong background in user experience and user interface design, working in an agile environment with a user centric mindset to test and define and develop user interfaces that meet the needs of the end users. The web-developer has experience in developing user interfaces, mockups and prototypes to test design ideas through various user testing methods. They are capable of translating visual mockups to a 1:1 functioning representation within a web browser as well as consuming and or defining API endpoints needed for front-end presentation using modern JavaScript frameworks such as React JS. The web developer will communicate design ideas to the product owner, development team, and other stakeholders using tools such as user flows, journey diagrams, interface mockups, wireframes, and prototypes. They will implement these designs using HTML and modern CSS technologies like Flexbox, ensuring the user interface is both mobile-ready and accessible.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct user research and translate findings into design concepts.
  • Create wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes of potential UX/UI solutions.
  • Conduct usability testing sessions, gather feedback, and iterate on designs.
  • Develop responsive and accessible web interfaces using HTML, CSS (including modern frameworks like Flexbox and Grid), and JavaScript frameworks.
  • Consume, define and integrate RESTful APIs endpoints to display dynamic data.
  • Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
  • Use version control systems like Git for collaboration and project management.
  • Write clean, reusable, and maintainable code.
  • Conduct unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE

  • Current student in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or substantially similar field
  • Aptitude for programming and debugging with the latest tools.
  • HTML5 Semantic elements
  • CSS Selectors and Properties
  • Knowledge of programming in JavaScript and related technologies
