SUMMARY
The Wireless Installation Field Technician is responsible for successful project deployment outcomes and delighting our customers.
Ensures accurate, complete, and professional deployment of microwave and wireless data systems. Implements and documents acceptance testing and as-builts. Interfaces with customers, subcontractors, and peers to ensure a successful outcome.
Has a strong command of microwave and wireless data system technology, concepts, and deployment. Understanding IP networking and TDM circuit concepts and implementation practices.
Adheres to best practices of deployment for wireless, networking, data, and power systems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
- Safely perform all work, identify, and promptly communicate any unsafe conditions.
- Interface with customers and peers to understand the technical requirements of each project.
- Consult with manufacturers to understand technical capabilities and implement ‘best practices’ to meet the customer’s needs.
- Assist with estimating job costs to ensure accurate quotes for customers.
- Manage subcontractors during installation to ensure proper deployment and configuration of technical solutions.
- Bench test and pre-configure wireless, networking, and power equipment.
- Travel to customer locations and job sites.
- Install microwave and DAS wireless equipment - antennas, coaxial, CAT 5/6/7 cable, fiber optic, BDAs, BBUs, annunciators, etc.
- Coordinate with field crews to collect photos and data to support the closeout package.
- Create accurate, complete closeout documentation.
- Daily updating of customer resource management (CRM) program.
- Organization and storage of all documents related to customer accounts.
- Perform site and path surveys.
- Troubleshoot microwave and wireless data systems.
- Troubleshoot transmission lines, CAT5e and CAT6, and fiber optic cable runs.
- Troubleshoot IP networks (Preferred – up to layer 3)
- Troubleshoot TDM circuits.
- Terminate and sweep coaxial cable and waveguide.
- Terminate and certify CAT5e and CAT6 cable.
- Terminate and test fiber optic cables using light source and power meter.
- Structured Cabling best practices.
- RFC2544 testing on microwave links.
- Daily progress reports with stakeholders and supervisor.
- Maintain a schedule and budget.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
- This position requires travel. Candidates must be willing and able to travel as needed with little notice if necessary. This position is in the field and on the road 30% of the time.
- Valid driver’s license required.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- 5 years or more field experience performing the above duties and responsibilities.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel and Visio, MS Project.
- Preference for experience with Cambium LinkPlanner, AviatCloud Design tool, Pathloss, or other microwave planning software

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
