We currently have a need for a Wireless Solutions Engineer Level II to support client wireless environments. Wireless Engineer will support ongoing Wireless Project activities at a major hospital system in the New York Metro Area. The Wireless Engineer will work with a team to deploy and test Wireless Access Points across the environment. The Engineer will be responsible for planning, configuring and implementing Wireless Access Points. Global Financial Services, Healthcare or Pharmaceutical or Managed Services experience is strongly preferred.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related discipline required.
  • Experience with Cisco 9800, 8500 and 5500 WLC’s.
  • Experience with WiFi 6
  • Experience using Cisco Prime and Mobility Search Engine (MSE)
  • Familiarity with Real Time Location Systems (RTLS) tracking
  • Experience with Cisco Catalyst Center and Cisco Spaces.
  • Experience designing and deploying Cisco ISE (Identity Services Engine) for secure network access.
  • Knowledge of Cisco IOS/AirOS configuration and troubleshooting across multiple platforms.
  • Knowledge of 802.11a/g/n/ac/ax, Cisco WLC, WCS, CAPWAP, LWAP; be able to use tools such as Cisco Catalyst Center, Prime Infrastructure, AirMagnet Spectrum, Ekahau, WiFi, and Survey, to design and support WLANS.
  • Knowledge of L2/L3 and wireless security features including access-lists, VACLS, firewalls, WPA, TKIP, CCKM, LEAP, etc.
  • Hands-on experience and well versed in utilizing networking tools and applications, such as Cisco Works, Solarwinds, CA, Infinistream, Sniffer, Airmagnet Suite, and TACACS.
  • Active Certifications CWNA, CWNP, CCNA Wireless, CCNP Wireless, CCIE Wireless; are preferred, but NOT required. Ekahau and/or AirMagnet Professional Certifications a plus.
  • Cellular wireless (5G, 4G, Small Cell, CBRS) design/implementation/support experience is a plus
  • Experience working in large enterprise networks is desired. The ability to work under pressure and interface with senior management will be key to these roles.
Responsibilities
  • Assisting with Active and Predictive Wireless Coverage Surveys
  • Implementing and Testing Wireless Access Points
  • Deactivating and removing network hardware
  • Documenting closeouts with Change Management
  • Assisting with Configuration of Cisco Wireless Controllers
  • Working with cabling vendors in Access Point deployments
  • Documenting Wireless Infrastructure
  • Adhering to Hospital Center Configuration and Change Management guidelines
  • Provide recommendations on viability, implementation strategies and optimal implementation of solutions.
  • Recommend enhancements/changes to system design as appropriate
  • Develop device configurations and/or make modifications to existing configuration standards
  • Troubleshoot and support WLANs by performing and documenting 802.11 wireless surveys.
  • Experience using Ekahau/Air Magnet Survey and Spectrum Analyzer, analyzing collected RF data to determine cell boundaries, AP power settings, and noise and interference sources is preferred, but not required.
  • Provide guidance on wireless survey criteria and review/validate surveys performed by team members.
  • Diagnose difficult network performance problems and interact with application support teams to diagnose network or application performance issues. Must know how to quickly trouble-shoot network issues.
