Piper Companies is seeking a Wireless Network Engineer to join a cutting-edge team supporting enterprise-level wireless infrastructure. This hybrid role is based in RTP, NC, and offers the opportunity to work hands-on with advanced Wi-Fi technologies while traveling to client sites for high-impact deployments and surveys.

Responsibilities for the Wireless Network Engineer include:

  • Deliver operational support for complex Wi-Fi network deployments and configurations
  • Troubleshoot wireless and RF issues across diverse enterprise environments
  • Conduct predictive and on-site RF surveys using tools like Ekahau or AirMagnet
  • Contribute to both high-level and low-level wireless network design
  • Support network implementation planning, configuration, and testing
  • Travel 50% or more to customer sites for surveys, deployments, and troubleshooting

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE WIRELESS NETWORK ENGINEER INCLUDE:

  • 5+ years of experience in the IT or network engineering field
  • Strong background in RF design, including predictive modeling and AP-on-a-stick surveys
  • Working knowledge of Layer 3 protocols and basic LAN switching
  • Proficiency with Ekahau or AirMagnet survey tools
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
