Piper Companies is hiring a Wireless Network Solutions Architect for a remote contract position through the end of the year with a global technology leader. This role is ideal for someone passionate about wireless design and deployment, with the flexibility to travel up to 30% to diverse client environments—from manufacturing facilities to healthcare campuses.

REQUIREMENTS OF THE WIRELESS NETWORK SOLUTIONS ARCHITECT:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 8–10 years of experience in enterprise wireless and network architecture.
  • Deep knowledge of modern wireless standards including Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) and Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be).
  • Proficiency in cloud-managed networking protocols and technologies (e.g., HTTP, DNS, SSL, CAPWAP, LWAPP).
  • Strong understanding of authentication and encryption protocols such as 802.1x, RADIUS, and WPA3.
  • Experience with SD-WAN deployments and routing protocols (OSPF, IS-IS, RIP, BGP), as well as Layer 2 technologies (STP, VTP, LACP).
  • Familiarity with federal compliance standards including FIPS 140-2. Excellent communication skills and ability to lead complex technical projects.
Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and optimize cloud-managed wireless networking solutions, including wireless LAN, switching, security, and SD-WAN technologies.
  • Utilize centralized dashboards for configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting of network infrastructure.
  • Provide advisory and consulting services to support seamless deployment and adoption of wireless and cloud-managed networking solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with federal cloud security standards, including FedRAMP Moderate and StateRAMP requirements.
  • Design and deploy hierarchical network segmentation across access, distribution, and core layers.
  • Implement and optimize advanced routing protocols such as OSPF and BGP for WAN environments.
  • Collaborate with service providers to integrate and enhance enterprise network performance.
