Role Summary:
We are seeking a talented and driven Systems Engineer focusing on connectivity to join our team. In this role, you will drive the design, development, and validation of our highly complex and distributed connectivity systems, ensuring they meet functionality, performance, and compliance requirements. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver cutting-edge solutions that enhance the user experience and align with our commitment to innovation and excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop detailed use cases, system, and subsystem-level requirements for realizing end-to-end connectivity and wireless features.
  • Develop and implement networking architectures for in-vehicle systems based on POSIX-compliant operating systems (Linux, QNX, etc.).
  • Design efficient communication mechanisms across distributed subsystems, ensuring performance and reliability.
  • Define and document interface specifications and networking standards.
  • Devise tools and methodologies for rapid prototyping of feature proposals with cross-functional teams and industry partners to demonstrate technical feasibility.
  • Evaluate connectivity performance and provide recommendations based on trade-off analysis at a system & product level.
  • Leverage AI and machine learning tools to contribute to the team’s data based insights generation efforts.

Qualifications:

  • BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or Computer Engineering
  • Proficient in at least one of Wireless technologies (LTE, 5G, or Wi-Fi)
  • Proficient in Networking (such as TCP/IP, MPTCP, VPN, DNS, DHCP, tunneling to support a diverse array of network configurations)
  • Solid understanding and experience with POSIX-based embedded systems; one or more of Linux, Android, QNX.
  • Strong first-principles thinking along with excellent analytical, debugging, and problem solving skills
  • Knowledge in any of embedded databases and middleware components such NATS, MQTT, HTTPs is a plus.

Pay Disclosure:
Salary Range/Hourly Rate for California Based Applicants: $146,900 - $183,600 USD (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
Benefits Summary: Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies provides robust medical/Rx, dental and vision insurance packages for full-time and part-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Full Time Employee coverage is effective on the first day of employment. Part-Time employee coverage is effective the first of the month following 90 days of employment.
