Join our team as a part-time staff member and diversify your skills by being cross trained in multiple roles. Our part-time staff provide support to individuals accessing service within our Withdrawal Management and Treatment Services (WMTS) programs, as well as those who call our 24/7 Crisis Line. Within WMTS, staff are responsible for supporting individuals making changes to their substance use, including both those in active withdrawal and people farther along their recovery journey in our treatment programs. Your role includes monitoring withdrawal symptoms, administering medication as prescribed, facilitating psychoeducational groups, running social or recreational activities, helping clients make safety or support plans for their next steps, and assisting with their transition to ongoing services. When responding to the Crisis Line, you provide supportive listening, coping skills coaching, risk assessments, and safety planning for those who reach out for support.
This is a great opportunity to grow your skills and make a difference!

As part time staff:

  • Deliver brief, solution-focused interventions
  • Conduct screening of clients prior to withdrawal management admission
  • Monitor withdrawal symptoms, administer and document client medications, and alert medical professionals to any issues which impact client’s safe withdrawal
  • Support implementation of client safety, support and/or transition plans
  • Provide individual or group psychoeducation to enhance client motivation to change and support their recovery
  • Confidently redirect client behaviour when required, to ensure a physically and emotionally safe space for all
  • Be responsive and compassionate to clients within the program, and those who access the crisis line
  • Answer and document all crisis line calls appropriately
  • Support safe and effective facility functioning through light cleaning and meal preparation

Hours of work: A variety day, afternoon, and night shifts between 4 and 12 hours in length are available across programs, with most scheduled hours being Friday, Saturday, or Sunday.
