Description Under direction of a supervisor, in a state department or agency, assists in the operation and maintenance of various types of boats assigned to the unit; does related work as required. Specific to the Position Under direction of a supervisor, in a state department or agency, assists in the operation and maintenance of various types of boats assigned to the unit used to mark state navigation channels; does related work as required. Preferred Skill Set Knowledge of the operation, servicing, cleaning, and maintenance of patrol boats and motors. Ability to learn to assist in the marking and maintenance of coastal waters, inland waterways and lakes. Ability to properly use and store boats and related materials and equipment. Ability to learn to utilize various types of electronic and/or manual recording and information systems used by the agency, office, or related units. License Appointees will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle, rather than employee mobility, is necessary to perform the essential duties of the position.
