The WMS Specialist I supports warehouse operations by managing system workflows, monitoring task execution, and ensuring the accuracy of wave planning and task generation. This role plays a key part in maintaining facility data, resolving system exceptions, and coordinating with operations leadership to align resources with daily production needs. The WMS Specialist I also contributes to training efforts and serves as a subject matter expert in SAP/EWM processes. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES * Execute daily wave planning and printing functions to support production schedules. * Monitor SAP/EWM work queues and task execution, resolving exceptions as needed. * Maintain facility location data, drop zones, and wave progress from creation to completion. * Use Warehouse Management System (WMS) to manage and release picking, shipping, and forklift tasks. * Prioritize workloads based on resource availability and operational needs. * Support training and documentation efforts for system processes and procedures. * Provide feedback on profiling and assist in developing training materials. * Communicate workflow changes to floor leadership in real time via radio, email, and in-person updates. * Collaborate with supervisors and peer leads to ensure cross-functional alignment. * Participate in hands-on production tasks during non-peak periods as needed. * Support special projects and continuous improvement initiatives. QUALIFICATIONS Experience: 1–2 years of warehouse or distribution experience required; SAP/EWM experience strongly preferred. Education: High school diploma or GED required. Skills: * Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills. * Proficiency with WMS, SAP/EWM, RF scanners, and basic computer applications. Availability: Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays, especially during peak seasons. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS) * Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. regularly. * Frequent standing, walking, bending, and repetitive motion. * Comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically active warehouse environment. WORK ENVIRONMENT & SCHEDULE Fast-paced warehouse setting with temperature changes and moving equipment. Standard shifts with overtime required during seasonal peaks. Shift Options: * Shift 1: Sunday–Wednesday (Sun: 4:00 PM–2:00 AM, Mon–Wed: 2:00 PM–12:00 AM) * Shift 2: Tuesday–Friday (7:00 AM–5:00 PM) Qualifications EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE * High school diploma or equivalent is preferred * 2+ years of related experience * Strong Excel experience preferred * Proficiency in Microsoft Office * Strong WMS experience/SAP preferred * Strong organizational skills with the ability to consistently meet deadlines with accurate and detailed results. * Possess exceptional communication skills (verbal and written) * Perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and consistently meet deadlines with accurate and detailed results * Have the ability to use Microsoft Office for work organization, analysis, and communication.
