SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Proven experience in buying womenswear, ideally within a premium or contemporary brand.
  • Strong commercial judgement and a track record of delivering growth and margin improvement.
  • Excellent negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
  • Technical knowledge of garment construction, fabrication, and production processes.
  • Deep understanding of the fashion market, customer trends, and competitor landscape.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and capable of driving change at pace.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
Responsibilities

ROLE OVERVIEW

As a Buyer at Jigsaw, you will be responsible for building and delivering a compelling, brand-aligned product range across all channels. You will work closely with Design, Merchandising, and Technical teams to ensure the product assortment meets customer expectations, margin targets, and business objectives. This is a pivotal role requiring strong commercial acumen, supplier management skills, and a deep understanding of the Jigsaw customer.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build a commercial well-balanced, story-driven range tailored to store grades, concessions, e-commerce, and marketplaces.
  • Collaborate with Design to develop seasonal collections that reflect the Jigsaw brand essence.
  • Own the range sign-off process and store assortment and ensure timely delivery of samples and product assets.
  • Monitor and support product development through to final sign-off and SMS review.
  • Deliver profitable assortments in line with intake margin targets.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive pricing and maintain quality standards.
  • Identify and manage key suppliers for both volume and quick-response business.
  • Evaluate supplier performance and contribute to the evolution of the supplier strategy.
  • Manage the product critical path, ensuring timely PO placement and accurate system updates.
  • React to trade performance in-season, working with Merchandising to optimise the range.
  • Ensure all marketing and e-commerce collateral is accurate and aligned with the business calendar.
  • Lead by example, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team culture.
  • Support and develop junior team members, providing guidance and training.
  • Maintain strong cross-functional relationships across Buying, Design, Merchandising, and Technical teams.
