JOB DESCRIPTION

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time Wood Machinist to work at Jelson Head Office Workshop in Leicester. Family run for 130 years, we strive in delivering exceptional service to our customers.
The main purpose of the role is to machine a variety of components for manufacturing our kitchens and stairs using timbers and sheet materials.

• Ability to follow plans/drawings and set machines accordingly
• Selecting and fitting saw blades, drill bits or other tools to the machines
• Cutting kitchens and stair components to size
• Selecting the appropriate material for each job
• Ability to set up and use various machinery including Panel Saw, Edge banding machine, CNC Drilling Machine, crosscut saw, spindle moulder, mortisers, 4 Sided planer, Resaw, Tenoner and overhead routers
• Checking the accuracy of machines
• Able to work unaided and as part of a team
• Keeping a clean and tidy workspace
• Compliance with health & safety policies, risk assessments & procedures at all times
• Carry out additional duties within your skill and competence
• Compliance with GDPR at all times
