Description Entry Level - We will train you! Do you enjoy working with your hands? Then this might be just the job for you! We are seeking a detail-oriented individual to process and coordinate wood materials for production. This person will operate a variety of light industrial machinery to process wood components to create both guitar necks and bodies. The position requires the ability to assess material for optimal use, accurately cut material to maximize usable output, and operate woodworking equipment with precision to support production needs. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Manage wood inventory, organizing and transporting it, as needed. Plan wood use, determining the best arrangement and cut for each part. Inspect wood for defects while processing it with a focus on maximizing yield and minimizing waste. Grade and organize wood according to it’s grade. Operate a variety of electric saws, sanders, and jointers. Cut, slice, resaw, glue, joint, trim, chop, rip, sand, plane, route wood to specified dimensions. Ensure the health & safety of yourself and others by following policies, procedures, and always acting in a safe manner. The ideal candidate is someone who… has a basic knowledge of: a variety of electric sanders, other electric tools and hand tools. operating light industrial machinery. has: Excellent organization and attention to detail Positive and constructive attitude Confident decision-making skills and is able to: stand and occasionally walk for an 8-hour period. bend and twist upper and lower body. reach, grasp, grip to move and lift long and heavy wooden boards. move items up to 60 lbs. transport wood using a truck and/or trailer. tolerate a dusty work environment. accurately follow instructions. stay focused and alert while performing repetitive tasks. work at a quick pace while maintaining superior quality standards. maintain hand-eye coordination and finger dexterity for an 8-hour period. maintain good vision to include close vision and depth perception for an 8-hour period. Job Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent One year of relevant fast-paced production, and manufacturing experience preferred One year of carpentry, wood processing, or woodworking experience preferred Working Environment: This position does not supervise other positions but may assist with training other employees. It is full-time, onsite, Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. The work location for this position is manufacturing and may experience a loud and/or dusty environment. This work area is not temperature controlled and may experience higher temperatures in the summer. This individual will primarily work independently but may interact with team members as needed throughout the day. This position occasionally requires use of a personal vehicle for reimbursable work-related travel.
