Cutting Edge CNC is searching for a detail-oriented Wood Shop Production Team Member to join our dynamic team in East Gwillimbury, Ontario. If you are passionate about woodworking and thrive in a fast-paced environment, we want to hear from you!
Position Summary
You will be essential to the assembly of high-quality bathroom vanities and other custom furniture. You will also operate a variety of woodworking machinery, ensuring precision and quality in every piece. This role requires an understanding of woodworking principles, excellent manual dexterity, and a commitment to efficiency and craftsmanship.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assembly: Accurately and efficiently assemble bathroom vanities and other furniture components based on specifications and diagrams.
  • Machine Operation: Operate and maintain various woodworking machinery, including but not limited to: Case Clamps, Edge Bander, Point to Point CNC Machines, and Panel Saws.
  • Tool Proficiency: Skillfully use a wide range of hand tools (e.g., drills, sanders,measuring instruments) for assembly, finishing, and adjustments.
  • Quality Control: Keep a sharp eye for detail to ensure all products meet ourhigh-quality standards. Spot and report any defects or issues quickly.
  • Problem-Solving: Visualize how individual pieces come together andtroubleshoot any assembly challenges.
  • Material Handling: Safely and efficiently handle and move wood materials andfinished products within the shop. Able to safely lift 50 pounds (wood andfinished furniture).
  • Maintenance & Housekeeping: Perform routine cleaning and basic maintenance of machinery and your workspace to ensure a safe and organized environment.
  • Documentation: Accurately complete production logs and any other necessary paperwork.
  • Continuous Improvement: Actively participate in training and be willing to learn new skills and adapt to evolving production processes and technologies as our business grows.

Qualifications & Attributes

  • Experience: Previous experience in a factory or woodworking environment, particularly with furniture assembly, is a strong asset.
  • Technical Skills: Can learn and operate woodworking machinery (Case Clamps,Edge Bander, CNC, Saw). Being good with hand tools is also important.
  • Mechanical Aptitude: Understand mechanical processes and the ability totroubleshoot minor machine issues.
  • Attention to Detail: An eye for detail and a strong commitment to producinghigh-quality work.
  • Assembly Skills: Ability to visualize and complete assembly tasks.
  • Independence: Able to work well with minimal supervision, showing initiative and self-direction.
  • Punctuality & Reliability: Consistently on time and have a strong work ethic.
  • Adaptability: Willingness to learn new techniques and adapt to changes in production methods and product designs.
  • Organizational Skills: Maintain a tidy and efficient workspace.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment, contributing to a positive and productive atmosphere.
  • Physical Demands: Can lift and move materials weighing up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive tasks.
