The ideal Wood Technician member candidate: Is an upbeat and positive person bringing a can-do attitude to work everyday Is comfortable working in confined spaces Can work with minimal supervision Works cooperatively and collaboratively as part of a team Is quality and safety driven Is detail oriented Is bilingual The Wood Technician team member is vital to the successful completion of customer projects and must professionally represent Moisture Loc at all times. A typical day will include the following: Traveling ON TIME to the office with a reliable vehicle Traveling ON TIME to scheduled projects using a company vehicle Taking accurate measurements and cutting wood for structural repairs Replacing or repairing wood girders, floor joists, sill plates and outer rim joists Digging footings, pouring concrete, building CMU piers and building supplemental drop girders Utilizing jack systems to lift and flatten sagging floors Working with pressure treated lumber, engineered wood products and fasteners Operating power tools, saws, cutting tools, drills and jacks Accurately following the scope of work and being able to read structural drawings Following OSHA regulations, building codes and company safety protocol Requirements Ability to pass pre-employment screening including a background check Clean driving record and valid driver's license = Able to start work at 7am and work to 5pm, Monday to Friday and occasionally Saturday Education and Experience: Previous experience in carpentry, framing and foundation repair preferred, particularly in the fields of Construction and Home Improvement Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and lifting equipment Knowledge of building codes Nature of Work / Conditions Work is typically performed on all types of foundations and can include working in tight spaces and under houses Work requires constant movement, is strenuous, physical and can include standing, bending, crawling, lifting up to 50 lbs., loading and unloading materials, pushing and pulling equipment for prolonged periods Compensation This is a full-time opportunity with competitive compensation.
