WOODWORKER Location: Machesney Park, IL 61115 Bilingual Preferred   1st Shift 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.  JOB OVERVIEW We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Woodworker to join our fast-paced woodshop team in Machesney Park, IL. The ideal candidate will have experience building pallets, crates, and skids, with the ability to read drawings and prints accurately. This role requires working closely with customer service and other departments to meet tight deadlines and produce high-quality products for local and overseas shipping. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES * Build pallets, skids, and crates according to drawings, prints, and customer specifications. * Operate various saws (including industrial saws), industrial staple guns, industrial nail guns, and glue guns safely and efficiently. * Read and interpret tape measures, drawings, and prints to ensure accurate construction. * Work at a fast pace to build 17 to 20 skids per hour, often with orders received just hours before deadlines. * Crate products for local and overseas shipment, including onsite crating of machines at customer locations. * Follow woodshop procedures and maintain strict attention to detail, especially for products shipping overseas. * Collaborate closely with customer service and other departments to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment. * Maintain a clean and safe work environment while adhering to all safety protocols. REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS * Ability to read drawings and/or prints accurately. * Experience using saws of all types, including industrial saws. * Experience operating industrial staple guns and industrial nail guns. * Proficient in reading tape measures. * Experience building pallets and crates. * Knowledge of materials used, such as 2x4, 2x6 lumber, etc. * Ability to lift approximately 50 to 100 pounds regularly. * Ability to stand for long periods and bend frequently throughout the workday. * Punctuality and reliability are a must. * Willingness and ability to work overtime as needed. * Strong attention to detail and ability to follow woodshop procedures precisely. * Ability to safely operate multiple types of equipment in a fast-paced environment. WORK ENVIRONMENT The woodshop is a fast-paced environment where efficiency and accuracy are critical. Orders can come in with short notice, requiring flexibility and teamwork. The role demands physical stamina and a commitment to safety while maintaining high-quality workmanship.
