ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Strong proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript/jQuery.
• Solid experience with WordPress development (themes, plugins, custom post types).
• Good understanding of PHP and MySQL.
• Experience with responsive frameworks (Bootstrap, Tailwind, etc.).
• Knowledge of cross-browser compatibility and testing.
• Version control experience (Git).
• Basic understanding of on-page SEO.
• High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.

DESIRABLE SKILLS

• WooCommerce development experience.
• Familiarity with page builders (Elementor, WPBakery, Gutenberg).
• Experience with other CMS platforms (Shopify, Webflow).
• Exposure to LearnDash and/or Learning Management Systems.
• Basic design skills using Figma, Adobe XD, or Photoshop.
• Hosting management knowledge (cPanel, DNS configuration).
• Understanding of analytics tools (Google Analytics, Tag Manager).

THE ROLE

As a Web Developer at weSTART, you’ll work closely with our design and marketing teams to bring concepts to life, building websites that are visually stunning, user-friendly, and technically robust.
From brand-new builds to site refreshes and ongoing maintenance, you’ll be involved in the full lifecycle of projects — ensuring every site you deliver is fast, secure, accessible, and built to last.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop responsive, high-quality websites based on agreed design specifications.
• Build custom WordPress themes and templates from scratch.
• Customise and extend plugins to meet specific client needs.
• Integrate third-party APIs and services.
• Optimise websites for speed, security, accessibility, and SEO.
• Maintain, update, and improve existing websites.
• Work with designers to ensure pixel-perfect implementation.
• Conduct thorough testing and quality assurance before launch.
• Troubleshoot and resolve client website issues.
