Description
Your Role You are a high school student curious about architecture, design, or how creative ideas turn into real spaces. Join us for a two-week work experience placement that offers a hands-on introduction to the world of design and architecture. Whether you're considering a future in the industry or just want to explore something new, this placement is a great way to gain insight and experience in a creative professional environment. What You Will Do Over the one week, you'll have the opportunity to observe how projects develop from concept to construction, and support the team with simple but meaningful tasks. These may include a creative project in our office, helping organize our design library, or sitting in on team discussions and reviews. You'll also get a chance to see the software and tools we use—like 3D models, 3D printing, and digital drawings. We understand that this may be your first experience in a professional setting, so we'll make sure to keep things friendly, supportive, and tailored to your comfort level. You'll be paired with another peer and a Gensler buddy who will guide you throughout your placement, answer your questions, and help you reflect on what you're learning. By the end of your two weeks with us, we hope you'll walk away with a clearer picture of what it's like to work in a design studio, some basic knowledge of architecture workflows, and a spark of inspiration for whatever path you choose next.
