Description:

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Legal Assistant will perform a variety of secretarial and administrative duties to support the daily operations of a U.S.-based immigration law firm. This role is critical in ensuring smooth workflow by handling key tasks such as formatting legal correspondence, reviewing and proofreading documents, communicating with clients, and managing case updates. The Legal Assistant will work closely with the immigration attorney and staff to provide high-quality support.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred, specifically in Law.
  • At least 1 year of experience as a Legal Assistant or in an administrative role within a law firm, preferably in immigration law.
  • Proficient in both written and spoken English.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Experienced with Adobe Acrobat, DocuSign, or similar applications.
  • Strong multitasking skills with the ability to manage time efficiently.
  • Must have a personal laptop or desktop (8GB RAM, Core i5 or above) and a stable internet connection with a minimum speed of 10Mbps.

    Pay: $414,817.00 - $456,299.00 per month

Experience:

  • legal assistance or law firm: 3 years (Required)
  • immigration law: 3 years (Required)

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, format, and edit immigration-related legal documents and correspondence, ensuring compliance with the firm standards.
  • Review, proofread, and verify outgoing documents for accuracy, grammar, and completeness.
  • Assist with the preparation and filing of legal documents with courts and U.S. government immigration agencies (e.g., USCIS, DOS, ICE).
  • Organize and maintain client files, records, and other legal documentation.
  • Communicate with clients to schedule meetings, relay information, and follow up on inquiries.
  • Handle incoming and outgoing communications, including phone calls, emails, and mail, in relation to immigration matters.
