Council is seeking a suitability qualified applicant to fill the permanent full-time position of Work Health and Safety Partner and Systems Officer. Experience is preferred, however, Council is willing to support the training and development of the right person, making this the perfect career change opportunity!
Based at our head office in Sale, Victoria and reporting into the Coordinator Work Health and Safety, you will work alongside business leaders and teams across our various sites within Wellington Shire. This role offers a great variety of challenging functions, with a diverse mix of both field and office work. Your key duties will be to assist with the facilitation of ongoing, best practice Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) programs, processes, reporting and the currency and maintenance of the organisations OHS incident and reporting system / software.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about safety and who is a highly skilled communicator. The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to interpret relevant OH&S legislation and regulations. You will develop close relationships with management and supervisors to proactively identify OH&S risk issues and to develop and implement effective controls. Your flexibility, willingness to grow and strong communication skills will ensure you are successful in this role.
Our ideal candidate will have a minimum qualification of Certificate IV in Occupational Health and Safety and previous experience in Local Government would be advantageous but is not essential.
Newly qualified undergraduates in a Bachelor of Occupational Health and Safety degree are strongly encouraged to apply as this is a great role to start and further your health and safety career.
