Job title: Workday HCM Consultant
Location: UK
This future role will focus on leading the implementation, configuration, and optimization of Workday HCM modules, including Compensation, Talent Management, and Absence Management. The consultant will also design custom reports, manage integrations, and ensure proper security configurations. Strong experience with Workday HCM, EIB, Core Connectors, and Studio is required. This is a forward-looking opportunity for upcoming projects.

Job Description (Main Duties and Responsibilities):

  • Lead the implementation, configuration, and optimization of Workday HCM modules, including Compensation, Talent Management, Absence Management, and more.
  • Design and develop Workday HCM Reports using Workday Report Designer and BIRT, ensuring they meet business requirements.
  • Create and manage Workday Calculated Fields to build custom reports, business logic, and automation across Workday HCM modules.
  • Implement and maintain EIB (Enterprise Interface Builder) and Core Connectors for seamless integration between Workday and third-party systems.
  • Configure and support Workday Security to ensure proper role-based access controls, security policies, and data privacy across HCM modules.
  • Utilize Workday Studio for custom integrations and advanced configurations, working closely with functional and technical teams to meet business needs.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements, provide expert advice, and design effective Workday HCM solutions.
  • Manage and support Workday Talent Management processes including performance management, career development, and succession planning.
  • Lead the configuration and optimization of Workday Compensation including salary planning, bonus programs, and equity management.
  • Work with teams to configure and optimize Workday Absence Management for time-off tracking, leave management, and related workflows.
  • Provide hands-on training and support to end users, ensuring they understand and effectively use Workday HCM tools.
  • Assist in testing, troubleshooting, and issue resolution for Workday HCM modules, integrations, and reports.
  • Work closely with business analysts, IT teams, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery and continuous improvement of Workday solutions.
  • Ensure the Workday system is aligned with business needs and industry best practices.

Key Skills, Qualifications and Experience Needed [The candidate must demonstrate these in all stages of assessment]:  

  • Strong hands-on experience with Workday HCM, including modules such as Compensation, Talent Management, Absence Management, and more.
  • Expertise in Workday HCM Reports and the ability to create custom reports using Workday Report Designer (BIRT) and Calculated Fields.
  • Experience with EIB (Enterprise Interface Builder) and Core Connectors for building integrations between Workday and third-party systems.
  • Familiarity with Workday Studio for custom integrations and advanced configuration tasks.
  • Deep understanding of Workday Security concepts, including role-based security, data privacy, and access controls.
  • Proven experience with Workday Compensation and the ability to configure compensation plans, salary administration, bonuses, and other pay-related processes.
  • Experience in Workday Talent Management processes, including performance reviews, career development, and talent mobility.
  • Strong knowledge of Workday Absence Management for managing employee leave, time-off tracking, and absence policies.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work with both technical and non-technical teams.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to address complex issues in Workday configurations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Workday HCM certifications are a plus (e.g., Workday HCM Core, Compensation, Talent, Absence Management).
