Salary Range: $55-$65/hour annual equivalent (W2), commensurate with experience

Position Overview:
A respected government agency is seeking a Workday Core HCM Implementation Specialist with a strong background in both HR systems implementation and hands-on human resources support. This role will serve as a key partner to the HR Information Management (HRIM) Manager, ensuring the successful deployment, optimization, and adoption of Workday Core HCM and associated modules (especially performance and talent management). We are looking for a strategic problem-solver who understands public sector operations, can navigate internal workflows, and is capable of translating technical functionality into practical tools that support HR goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the implementation and configuration of Workday Core HCM, aligning with the agency’s broader workforce strategy.
  • Serve as a trusted Workday advisor to HR leadership, recommending system enhancements, identifying limitations, and ensuring the platform supports HR’s operational and strategic needs.
  • Support the HRIM Manager by developing processes, workflows, and documentation—while actively teaching and transferring knowledge.
  • Configure and advise on Talent and Performance Management tools within Workday to align with employee development goals and performance review cycles.
  • Assist in the development and execution of change management plans to ensure stakeholder buy-in and system adoption.
  • Maintain compliance with internal policies and public sector standards; ensure proper data governance and system integrity.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders, including IT, Finance, and Civil Service teams, to ensure smooth integration and communication across departments.

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience with Workday Core HCM implementation, ideally in a public sector or large-scale enterprise environment.
  • Demonstrated experience working alongside or within HR teams, with a strong grasp of HR processes, compliance requirements, and workflows.
  • Deep understanding of Workday’s capabilities and constraints, with the ability to build and scale HR solutions within those parameters.
  • Prior experience implementing or supporting Talent & Performance Management modules is strongly preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to train and mentor others on system usage and best practices.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to navigate governmental structure, approvals, and stakeholder expectations.
  • Must be organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a dynamic environment with competing priorities.
