Job Details Job Location: KANSAS CITY, KS 66103 Salary Range: $28.72 - $37.44 Hourly Our Paralegals assist our attorneys with managing billable work, scheduling, file coordination, opening and/or closing files, summarizing documents for review and daily organizational needs relative to our cases in order to allow our attorneys to use their billable time effectively. Our Paralegals operate at a high degree of technical proficiency, have a passion for organization and efficiency and are solution-oriented. Candidates should work well both independently and within a team to assist our attorneys in managing the billable work of the firm. Roles & Responsibilities: Drafts various legal documents for attorney review Requests, follows-up on, and organizes medical record files E-File documents within appropriate court filing systems (Kansas City) Manages and organizes case files Researches and analyzes case data Drafts discovery Communicates with outside counsel, physicians, court personnel and other experts Bills time contemporaneously Assists attorneys with case-related requests Responds to record and legal documentation requests Answers phone calls, takes messages or transfers calls to appropriate parties Works with highly confidential information and always maintains utmost confidentiality Acts in a stewardship capacity for MVP, works as a genuine, confident, functional member of the team, is hardworking with the ability to be innovative and firm focused in alignment with our core values Other duties as assigned Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: 2- or 4-year degree and a minimum of 2 years of recent experience in a paralegal role; prior experience in the workers compensation practice area is preferred Superb communication/customer service skills - both written and verbal Microsoft Office proficiency Organized Ability to juggle multiple high priority tasks at a time Excellent time management skills
