Description Georgia Spine & Orthopaedics, a leading orthopedic practice dedicated to providing comprehensive musculoskeletal care, is seeking a Workers' Compensation Coordinator to support our Workers' Compensation team. The Workers' Compensation Coordinator plays a critical role in managing the end-to-end process of workers' compensation cases within the medical practice. This includes patient intake, scheduling, coordinating procedures (injections and surgeries), obtaining authorizations, and maintaining communication with case managers and insurance adjusters. The role also involves external marketing efforts, attending seminars, and representing the practice at industry conferences. Job Duties & Responsibilities: Patient & Case Management Manage intake of workers' compensation patients, ensuring accurate documentation and eligibility verification. Schedule appointments, diagnostic tests, injections, and surgical procedures. Coordinate with physicians and clinical staff to ensure timely and appropriate care delivery. Track patient progress and follow-up needs throughout the treatment lifecycle. Authorization & Documentation Submit and follow up on authorization requests for treatments, procedures, and referrals. Maintain detailed records of communications, authorizations, and case updates. Ensure compliance with state and federal workers' compensation regulations. Communication & Liaison Serve as the primary point of contact for case managers, insurance adjusters, and employers. Provide timely updates on patient status, treatment plans, and documentation. Resolve issues related to claims, authorizations, and scheduling conflicts. Marketing & Outreach Represent the practice at workers' compensation seminars, conferences, and networking events. Build and maintain relationships with referral sources, case managers, and adjusters. Assist in developing marketing materials and outreach strategies targeting WC stakeholders. Administrative & Task Management Monitor and manage daily tasks related to WC cases using EMR and task management systems. Collaborate with billing and coding teams to ensure proper documentation and reimbursement. Generate reports on WC case volume, authorization status, and referral trends. Requirements Qualifications · High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred. · Minimum 2 years of experience in workers' compensation coordination or medical office administration. · Strong understanding of WC regulations, MSK care, and authorization processes. · Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. · Proficiency in EMR systems and Microsoft Office Suite. · Ability to travel locally for seminars and conferences as needed.
