Efficiently organizes and maintains case files electronically. 2. Prepares necessary documents in a proficient and timely manner, such as: petitions, subpoenas, exhibits, affidavits, findings, memos, letter briefs and appeals, supersedeas documents or motions, etc. 3. Prepares and organizes case files, medical summaries and other paper/electronic case materials to support client cases, entry of appearances, pleadings, filings in WCAIS, prepare mediation statements and other legal procedures. 4. Oversees timely and accurate ordering of records by legal assistants. 5. Tracks and follows up on requests for information and discovery process and conducts legal research as needed. Requirements Preferred Requirements: Minimum of two (2) years Paralegal experience preferred Experience in Workers' Compensation areas of law preferred Requirements: Able to support preparation of legal documents, petitions, amendments and other related items with strict confidentiality. Able to work in a fast-paced, high energy and team-oriented environment, quickly taking initiative to assimilate and apply new knowledge, while producing high quality work under pressure and within tight deadlines. Excellent interpersonal skills; able to develop relationships with coworkers, clients, and colleagues. Strong computer skills including MS Office applications and other software as required. Candidates should be located within a reasonable commuting distance of our Pittsburgh (North Shore) office. We generally define this as being within a 50 minute drive during peak traffic hours to ensure a sustainable work-life balance and on-site collaboration.
Responsibilities
The role involves organizing electronic case files and preparing legal documents such as petitions, subpoenas, and mediation statements. Additionally, the paralegal tracks discovery requests and supports the Workers' Compensation team in managing client cases.
