Workers Compensation Payroll Advisor

An exciting opportunity is available to support the Department of Education’s Return to Work and Recovery Team as a Worker Compensation Payroll Advisor (VPS 4), in the Employee Safety, Wellbeing and Inclusion Division (ESWI Division).

This role supports the return to work coordinators with the coordination of payroll processing including:

• processing of current weekly earnings, medical certificates and return to work plans
• supporting business managers and human resources with workers compensation payroll advice
• building skills, knowledge, and understanding of workers compensation payroll obligations

The role requires:

• strong people and stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate on initiatives to improve results
• excellent verbal and written communication and case management skills including organisational and records management
• knowledge and experience in workers compensation legislation, obligations and practices
• ability to drive team performance towards achieving set key performance indicators (KPIs).

Desirable Qualifications and Experience
Demonstrated experience in payroll and compensation-related transactions, with strong knowledge of workers compensation legislation, attention to detail, effective communication skills, and proficiency in payroll systems and records management tools.
