About the role We are looking for a Workforce Coordinator to provide operational workforce planning and day‑to‑day support to their assigned operational department. In this role, you will optimise work assignments for temporary employees, plan workforce movements, and ensure coverage needs are consistently met. This is an 18-month fixed term position. This role is a great opportunity for an analytical and detail‑oriented individual to directly contribute to the operational efficiency of the department and support the overall productivity and success of the team. Reporting to the Department Manager and working a Monday to Friday schedule, you will be: Working safely and in line with Rio Tinto Standards Forecasting workforce needs and determining appropriate staffing levels to meet operational demand while optimising the budget Developing and implementing strategies to meet departmental workforce requirements Managing the department’s Temporary Employee volumes in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement Contributing to workforce‑related projects, including changes to workforce plan, training needs, and shift structures Supporting operator and maintainer transfers by coordinating processes and providing timely, accurate information Preparing and maintaining monthly workforce reports for senior leaders, including absenteeism, overtime, and time‑off data About you A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team A related post‑secondary qualification or a high school diploma combined with relevant workforce coordination or operational experience Strong computer skills, with confidence using Microsoft Office tools such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint A collaborative, team‑oriented approach with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders Clear communication skills and strong organisation skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities Experience in a heavy industrial environment and/or coordinating unionised employees is considered an asset Applications close on Sunday, the 24th of May 2026 (Rio Tinto reserves the right to remove advertised roles prior to this date). The base salary range for this role is $90,560 - $135,840 CAD in addition to allowances, bonus, equity, health benefits, and any other discretionary benefits offered at Rio Tinto. Our base salary ranges are based on role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by the skills, experience, and impact you bring to the role.
