The Workforce Pathways in Senior Care for Women project offers a solution that brings together key stakeholders to co-design an end-to-end solution to upskill and place immigrant & racialized women in the GTA into sustainable careers in seniors’ healthcare. The project will leverage an integrated workforce development service model to help women secure meaningful careers while meeting labour market demands & employers’ talent needs for a resilient and vibrant workforce.
Reporting to the Project Manager, the successful candidate will utilize their previous job coaching experience to liaise, work with and provide support to the women participants and employer partners on activities related to the program. The Workforce Development Coach will prepare program participants for employment and monitor, mentor and support them throughout their probationary period.
o Post-secondary degree or diploma in business, social services, or related area.
o Minimum 2 years’ experience working in an employment-related field.
o Minimum of 2 years of demonstrated experience in some or all aspects of job search, job coaching, mentoring, and case management.
o Ability to learn new technology and government database management system.
o Demonstrated knowledge of LMI, job search, recruitment and community resources.
o Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups –particularly newcomer and racialized women.
o Demonstrated understanding of community resources, programs and services, and job search supports.
o Excellent interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills.
o Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
o Goal-oriented, highly organized, flexible and adaptable: with superior time management skills.
o Excellent knowledge of MS, Excel, PowerPoint, social media, and online platforms.
o Assist the Project Manager with outreach/marketing and recruitment, screening and selecting applicants for the program.
o Provide assistance & backup as needed to the Facilitator during the online pre-employment program delivery.
o Along with the program Facilitator, provide individual coaching/counselling regarding action planning with in-depth case management, including detailed notes and entry into a database.
o Assist clients with building a portfolio that highlights their employability.
o Provide mentorship to clients with the clear express purpose of coaching them for the Canadian workplace.
o Support individuals for disclosure of disabilities that may affect employment participation.
o Provide support to clients in assessing their qualifications against job requirements.
o Act as liaison between participants and employer partners to facilitate participants’ transition to employment opportunities.
o Assist with administrative tasks such as tracking and submitting attendance.
o Provide supported referral and access to other services, including settlement resources and job search supports.
o Conduct client follow-up activities.
o Collect and analyze statistics and program evaluation data and draft monthly/quarterly reports for review by the Project Manager.
o Other related duties as assigned
