Description Title: Workforce Development Program Coordinator Reports to: Area Director Job Hours: 25-35 hours per week (10 week program) Locations: Ripon Hourly Rate: $20.00 Position Responsibilities: The Workforce Development Program Coordinator is responsible for designing and leading hands-on, project-based learning experiences within the Boys & Girls Club Workforce Development Center. This role focuses on engaging youth in meaningful shop-based projects that build practical skills, career awareness, teamwork, and confidence over the course of a 10-week summer program. Key Responsibilities: Plan, develop, and implement engaging, age-appropriate projects across shop areas (e.g., woodworking, basic construction, or other hands-on trades) Supervise and actively engage youth participants, fostering a safe, inclusive and supportive environment Teach and reinforce workplace readiness skills such as teamwork, communication, problem-solving, and responsibility Ensure proper use, maintenance, and safety of tools, equipment, and workspace at all times Create a structured weekly schedule with clear goals, project timelines, and outcomes Adapt projects to meet varying skill levels and learning styles Track participant progress and provide feedback and encouragement Collaborate with other Club staff to align programming with overall youth development goals Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked workspace Support program evaluation by documenting activities, outcomes, and student engagement Requirements Qualifications: Experience working with youth (ages 10-18 preferred) in an educational, recreational, or mentorship setting Background or strong interest in skilled trades, maker education, construction, or hands-on project work Ability to design and lead engaging, project-based learning experiences Knowledge of shop safety procedures and best practices Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills Ability to design and lead engaging, project-based learning experiences Knowledge of shop safety procedures and best practices Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills Ability to manage groups of youth with varying abilities and needs CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) Preferred Qualifications: Experience in workforce development, career readiness, or vocational training programs Teaching, coaching, or group facilitation experience Certifications or training in relevant trades or technical skills Program Goals: Introduce youth to real-world skills and potential career pathways Build confidence through project completion and skill mastery Promote teamwork, responsibility and problem-solving Provide a fun, structured, and engaging summer experience Disclaimer: The information presented indicates the general nature and level of work expected of employees in this classification.
