Description

Verve Recruitment Group is excited to partner with Canadian Manufacturer’s and Exporters on their search for a Workforce Development Specialist. In this role you will assist the Manager, Workforce Development to deliver program offerings in response to manufacturers’ HR and workforce development needs.
This role will focus on supporting the HR community in manufacturing, along with other special projects taking place on the Workforce Development team. As part of the broader CME Manitoba team, you’ll provide services and support to achieve the overall mission of CME is to “help manufacturers grow” in any way we can.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create and curate a monthly newsletter for HR professionals in our industry.
  • Assist with special projects, including but not limited to industry salary surveys, HR training modules in response to survey results, and more.
  • Arrange for surveys upon request from members, summarize, and distribute results.
  • Coordinate training sessions for leaders.
  • Coordinate Intro to Manufacturing and Lean 101training sessions for diverse groups, including newcomers, youth, Indigenous communities, and student organizations.
  • Attend career fairs at post-secondary institutions, high schools, community events, and conferences to promote the Workforce Development Strategy and raise awareness about opportunities in the manufacturing sector.
  • Collaborate with CME Training Services to respond to industry training needs.
  • Collaborate with secondary school educators to organize tours of manufacturing facilities, providing them with firsthand industry knowledge to share with their students.
  • With support from the Program Coordinator, assist in the collection of information and data via reports to be submitted to key program stakeholders (government, members, director) based on meeting reporting requirements.
  • Support the Manager in Workforce Development initiatives such as Labor Market Information data collection and analysis, or involvement in other organizations related to Workforce Development.
  • Work collaboratively with the team in developing, managing, scheduling, and delivering Workforce Development programs.
  • Attend & support events as needed to grow & support all CME program participation and membership.
  • Work with the Marketing and Communications team to promote program initiatives, share success stories, etc.
  • Organize feedback sessions with those involved with the program for future development.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2+ years of experience in Human Resources administrative role with a proven track record of success in developing and delivering programs.
  • Must be highly organized, with exceptional ability to manage multiple deliverables, deadlines, and activity owners.
  • Demonstrated commitment to service excellence and anticipation of the needs of others.
  • High energy, maturity & ability to lead & serve with a collaborative attitude.
  • Ability to create & implement new initiatives with an entrepreneurial spirit & the ability to work independently & as well as with teams.
  • Passion for the success & growth of manufacturers within Manitoba.
  • Must be detail-oriented, organized & able to manage multiple tasks & timelines concurrently.
  • Excellent negotiation skills, strong decision-making, judgment & analytical skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including use of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills & ability to build relationships with stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of or having previously worked within manufacturing would be considered an asset.
