EXPERIENCE

  • First work experience gained (preferably in activities related to Corporate and Investment Banking) or a sound passion for financial concepts as well as strategic thinking.
  • Experience in and knowledge of accounting standards and its applicability for working capital solutions is a plus.

EDUCATION

  • Degree in Economics, Business Management or Finance preferable.

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

  • Knowledge of trade and commodity finance would be positive value.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel and Power Point).
  • Strong teamworking skills. ✓ Ability to work under tight deadlines for RFP/RFI.
  • Highly proficient in spoken and written English.
  • Knowledge of other languages (German, Italian, French, Spanish) would be positive valued, considering the interaction with European teams.

Responsibilities

As a Working Capital Advisory Intern, you will have the possibility to work within the GTB Working Capital Advisory team, who provides working capital advice to senior stakeholders (CFO & Treasurers) of our largest SCIB clients across Europe. The team works closely with in-country Trade & Working Capital Sales teams to deliver value-add solutions to clients. The Working Capital Advisory team is also responsible for providing guidance and training to other employees, fostering an open communication, and being a hub for best practices across Europe in GTB Trade. By above mentioned you will develop and learn a sophisticated set of skills in the Trade Finance & Working Capital area such as:

  • Sound knowledge of the GTB working capital products along our customer’s supply chain such as Payables, Receivables & Inventory finance solutions
  • Proficient in working capital advisory related skills, being able to analyse and provide advice to senior members of the customer’s treasury teams in all relevant aspects to Trade Finance & Working Capital.
  • Involved in the most sophisticated transactions in GTB Trade Europe.
  • The opportunity to familiarize yourself with various teams within GTB across Europe, gaining insights that will allow you to offer unique and diverse perspectives.

We need someone like you to help us in different fronts:

  • Support the senior members of the team in providing value-add advisory services to boost origination for the working capital products in Europe.
  • Support on research of financial metrics for large European Corporates.
  • In depth analysis of annual reports, sustainability reports, analyst reports (for listed entities) of the Corporates to gather intelligence that supports our strategic conversation with the Treasurer/CFO.
  • Preparation of internal and external presentations.
  • Develop sector expertise in all the different sectors covered by the sales teams.
  • Research and proposal of innovative solutions for the optimization of Working Capital of our customer base.
  • Being able to understand, analyse and provide WC solutions on the ESG agenda for Santander and Corporates.
  • Facilitate collaboration and communication within the GTB teams.
