JOB OVERVIEW

Northstone Concrete is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Working Foreman to lead and support our forming and finishing crews on a variety of residential and commercial projects. This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for a professional who enjoys being in the field, working shoulder-to-shoulder with their crew, while also taking on responsibility for planning, coordination, and execution.
As a Working Foreman, you will be the driving force on-site, ensuring that every project is built to the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency. You will oversee the day-to-day operations of forming and finishing crews, provide clear direction, and maintain strong communication with both clients and project managers. Beyond supervision, you will actively contribute by performing forming and finishing tasks, ensuring proper layout, and verifying that best practices are consistently applied.
The ideal candidate will have a proven background in concrete formwork across a variety of systems—ranging from ICF (Insulated Concrete Forms) to traditional wood and steel forming—and will be comfortable building both structural and architectural concrete elements. This role requires a professional who can balance leadership with craftsmanship: managing crew productivity, solving problems on-site, and still rolling up their sleeves to set forms, place rebar, or finish concrete.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 5 years of concrete formwork and/or finishing experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, structural drawings, and layout plans.
  • Hands-on experience with a variety of forming systems (ICF, wood, steel, modular, and custom architectural forms).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage crews of varying skill levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance hands-on tasks with supervisory responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of concrete placing and finishing techniques, including structural and decorative applications.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and professionalism on every job site.
    Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Freelance
    Pay: $45.00-$55.00 per hour
    Work Location: On the roa
Responsibilities
  • Supervise, coordinate, and motivate forming and finishing crews to deliver projects safely, on time, and to specification.
  • Ensure all formwork layouts are accurate, efficient, and aligned with design drawings.
  • Lead the construction of a wide variety of formwork systems (wood, steel, and ICF) for footings, walls, slabs, and architectural concrete applications.
  • Oversee finishing tasks, including trowel work, exposed aggregate, stamped concrete, and architectural detailing.
  • Maintain strict adherence to safety regulations and enforce safe working practices at all times.
  • Act as the primary on-site point of contact, communicating project progress and addressing concerns with clients, engineers, and project managers.
  • Perform daily quality checks to ensure all work meets Northstone Concrete’s standards of excellence.
  • Contribute directly to forming and finishing tasks as needed, leading by example and setting the standard for productivity and craftsmanship.
  • Train and mentor less experienced crew members, fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and professional growth.
