Description

WE’RE NOT LOOKING FOR A SUPERVISOR—WE’RE LOOKING FOR A LEADER WHO STILL LOVES GETTING THEIR HANDS DIRTY.

MacQueen Systems is growing fast, and we’re looking for a Working Foreman to be the on-site right hand to our Project Managers. You’ll be the boots on the ground, keeping the crew moving, the subs in check, and the project on track—while swinging the hammer alongside everyone else.
This role is all about taking ownership of the site and helping your PM run the job right: on budget, on schedule, and with a result everyone’s proud to put their name on. You’ll help spot issues early, make real-time calls, and keep communication flowing between the field and the office.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Lead by example on site—working directly on builds, renos, and custom projects
  • Report directly to your assigned PM(s) and act as their on-the-ground counterpart
  • Stay in sync with project goals, timelines, and budgets—and make sure they’re being hit daily
  • Coordinate vendors, deliveries, and materials to keep the site running smooth
  • Direct and support the day-to-day work of the crew, apprentices, and trades
  • Enforce site safety and quality standards—what gets done, gets done right
  • Use BuilderTrend or similar tools to log progress, photos, updates, and track change orders
  • Jump in wherever needed: layout, framing, finishing, problem-solving, walkthroughs, punch lists
  • Support client walkthroughs, city inspections, and subcontractor coordination

What We’re Looking For:

  • 5+ years of hands-on construction experience, ideally across residential renovations, and light commercial
  • Proven ability to lead small crews and manage a fast-paced site
  • Experience working with Indigenous communities or on Nation-led projects is considered a strong asset
  • Confident working closely with PMs to track progress, manage budget-conscious decisions, and forecast challenges
  • Strong understanding of job sequencing, materials, and scheduling
  • Comfortable balancing the tools and the tablet—site work and light admin both matter
  • Excellent communication with trades, vendors, clients, and the internal team
  • Prior supervisory experience or leadership training is a strong asset
  • Experience with BuilderTrend or similar construction management software is a plus
  • Valid BC driver’s license and reliable vehicle

What You’ll Get:

  • $34–$42/hr depending on experience and leadership capabilities
  • Extended health & dental benefits
  • Full-time, year-round work
  • Support from a solid PM team—this is not a solo mission
  • Tool & phone allowance where needed
  • Opportunity to grow into a Site Superintendent or PM role
  • A crew-first culture that values results, accountability, and getting the job done right
