Madisons Recruitment are looking for Working Foreman/Supervisor to start ASAP with a client of ours in Grays.
We are currently seeking an experienced and hands-on Working Foreman to lead a maintenance team along side the Director, operating within social housing/Void Properties properties in the Grays area. You will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations on-site, ensuring high standards of repair and maintenance work, and providing technical guidance while also being actively involved in the work yourself.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven experience in a supervisory or foreman role within social housing, particularly voids and refurbishments
  • Background in a core trade (e.g., carpentry, plumbing, plastering) with a multi-trade skill set.
  • Ability to manage time, teams, and materials to meet tight turnaround deadlines.
  • Strong knowledge of building regulations, void standards, and H&S compliance.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Valid CSCS card (Gold preferred).
  • SSSTS or SMSTS qualification
  • Full UK driving licence (essential)
Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate a team of operatives and subcontractors working on void refurbishments.
  • Carry out quality inspections and snagging to ensure all work meets required standards and deadlines.
  • Support operatives by undertaking trade work where required (multi-trade preferred).
  • Plan works effectively to ensure rapid turnaround of void properties while maintaining cost and quality control.
  • Liaise with housing officers, property managers, and tenants where necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation and company procedures.
  • Maintain accurate site records, schedules, and material usage.
  • Report progress and issues to the contracts/project manager on a regular basis.
