EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

  • Proven experience as a working foreman or senior tradesperson with supervisory duties
  • Strong background in one or more of the following: high end residential, commercial, heritage, or steel-framed construction
  • Good understanding of construction drawings and methods
  • Practical, hands-on approach with excellent site coordination skills
  • Confident leading small teams and dealing with subcontractors
  • Health & Safety focused with SSSTS (or SMSTS), First Aid at Work, and a valid CSCS card
  • Basic IT skills to support reporting and communications

Responsibilities

THE ROLE

As a Working Foreman, you’ll play a key role in day-to-day site operations — actively working on the tools while also supervising trades and ensuring that work is delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. You will coordinate tasks on-site, support project delivery, and ensure that health and safety procedures are followed at all times.
This role is ideal for someone with strong practical skills and leadership experience who wants to take ownership of site delivery while remaining hands-on.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee and actively participate in daily site activities
  • Coordinate and manage site operatives and subcontractors
  • Ensure works are carried out in line with drawings, specifications, and project timelines
  • Maintain a safe and clean site, enforcing health and safety regulations
  • Support site managers with planning, progress reporting, and quality checks
  • Identify and resolve any site issues quickly and effectively
  • Assist in the preparation of materials, plant, and equipment
  • Lead toolbox talks and site briefings
  • Liaise with supervisors, site engineers, and other trades to maintain workflow
