Job Details Level: Experienced Job Location: Girard College - Philadelphia, PA 19121 Position Type: Regular Full Time Education Level: High School/GED Salary Range: $36.27 - $36.27 This position reports to the Director of Campus Facilities and is the Work Leader responsible for the staff in the Repairs and Maintenance Department. Duties and Responsibilities: Directs and trains in facility maintenance operations and the work of facilities personnel involved in maintenance, repair and construction activities. Inspects buildings and campus areas to identify maintenance, cleanliness and repair needs as well as assigns duties to the appropriate personnel, inspecting all projects upon completion; Support and manage the Work Order system for facility maintenance and delegate work assignments to maintenance staff. Maintains thorough and accurate records on inventories needed for maintenance and repair activities and order parts as necessary; Inspects public use facilities for safety features and assigns immediate repairs to remedy any unsafe area; Promotes and ensures an environment of employee safety by explaining all safety precautions and monitoring for their use; Oversees the care and maintenance of all departmental vehicles, tools, supplies and related equipment; Prepares reports and/or completes special projects as requested; Keeps immediate supervisor and other appropriate staff fully and accurately informed concerning work progress, including present and potential work challenges including safety hazards and provides suggestions for new or improved ways of addressing such challenges; Communicates and coordinates regularly with the appropriate staff to maximize the effectiveness and efficiency of interdepartmental operations and activities; Performs other directly related duties consistent with the role and function of the classification. Assist in the operation of snow removal, experience preferred Grounds-keeping experience a plus Operate College equipment and vehicles in a safe, efficient, and appropriate manner. Upgrade trade knowledge/skill by attending required seminars and training. Assigns overtime according to contract provisions. Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent. Minimum five years of appropriate training and/or experience. Ability to read, write and speak English. Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds. Ability to climb ladders, bend, stoop and work in confined spaces. Valid Drivers License. Ability to respond to emergencies on campus within ½ hour of notification. Basic computer knowledge, MS office, Mpulse work request system a plus Ability to operate fork lift and aerial high reach
